Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej Now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to score a of 10 at the Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi is the Romanian gymnastics teacher who later became the coach for Comaneci, first discovered Comaneci when she was just six years old. The first time she competed at the national junior championships in 1969 placing 13th and she won the competition in the year 1970. In 1972, in an event for communist-controlled countries' junior athletes prior to the Olympics, she was awarded three gold medals. In 1973 and 1974 she won the overall junior champion. In her first international competition as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she beat the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva who was a five-time European champion winning four gold medals and one silver. She was the first woman ever to successfully perform reverse double saltos when dismounting from an uneven parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In her teens she started appearing on travelling shows such as Ice Capades as a skater alongside her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on 6th September, 1942 in Chicago Illinois. Carol began her journey into the entertainment business during her teenage years. She began her career as figure skater, performing alongside her younger sister Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around known as Ice Capades. These shows included ice skating performances that were accompanied by theatrical music.
